Stockton-on-Tees

Yesterday we paid a swift visit to Stockton-on-Tees and it is a town of stark contrasts.

Pretty town houses mingle with new build, art deco and fountains, it really is a lovely town which is clearly trying very hard with true Northern Grit to make a new and vibrant place to visit! There are plans here to develop the town and give it a new look...this is super and appreciated but I do love the older town buildings here and the nod to the history of the railways and it's heritage.

The people here are friendly and the range of shops is good too...

If you are planning a visit, I would definitely give Stockton-on-Tees a look because it's a town that is evolving and that's interesting and very admirable but always keep your heritage and never forget who you are, a good and kind Northern town.  The people are real and have no "side".

A whole new development is planned to be opened up next year which will open up a grand vista to the river.
